PDGF MICRONEEDLING
Regenerate.
Restore.
Reveal.
Advanced micro needling paired with PDGF to support your skin’s natural regenerative process for smoother, healthier-looking skin — and a more elevated approach to rejuvenation.
WHAT IS PDGF MICRONEEDLING?
Microneedling creates controlled micro channels in the skin, stimulating the body’s natural healing response and supporting new collagen and elastin production.
We pair micro needling with PDGF (platelet-derived growth factor), a bioactive growth factor involved in cellular signaling and tissue repair.
Applied during treatment, the PDGF product can penetrate the freshly created micro channels and complement the skin’s natural rejuvenation process.
The result? A treatment designed to improve the appearance and quality of your skin over time — without changing what makes you look like you.
YOUR SKIN, REFINED.
MORE THAN MICRONEEDLING
Why add PDGF?
Traditional micro needling is already designed to activate your skin’s natural wound-healing response.
Adding PDGF introduces additional regenerative signaling proteins to complement that process.
Think of it as giving your skin micro needling + an elevated regenerative boost.
The goal isn’t to completely change your skin overnight. It’s to support healthier-looking skin that continues to improve as collagen remodeling occurs.
THE DEFY EXPERIENCE
-
01. CONSULT
We start by assessing your skin, decreasing your concerns and determining whether PDGF micro needling is appropriate for you.
-
02. PREP
Your skin is thoroughly cleansed and a topical numbing agent may be applied to keep your treatment as comfortable as possible.
-
03. MICRONEEDLE + PDGF
A professional micro needling device creates controlled micro channels while your PDGF product is incorporated according to the treatment protocol.
-
04. REGENERATE
Your skin’s natural repair process begins. Over the following weeks, collagen remodeling and skin renewal continue beneath the surface.
THE GLOW GETS BETTER WITH TIME.
You may notice an initial refreshed appearance as your skin recovers, but micro needling isn’t only about an immediate glow.
Collagen remodeling takes time, improvements in texture, tone and overall skin quality may continue to develop over the weeks following treatment.
For many patients, a series of treatments may be recommended depending on their skin concerns and desired results.
PDGF + HAIR RESTORATION
Healthy-looking hair starts at the scalp.
For appropriate candidates, micro needling of the scalp combined with PDGF may be incorporated into a personalized hair-restoration plan.
Creating controlled microchannels in targeted areas of the scalp allows PDGF to be applied directly to the treatment area while micro needling itself stimulates a localized healing response.
Treatment recommendations vary depending on the cause and extent of hair thinning, so consultation and evaluation are an important first step.

FAQs
Is PDGF the same as PRP?
No, PRP is prepared from a patient’s own blood and contains a mixture of platelets and naturally occurring growth factors. PDGF products used with aesthetic procedures are manufactured products designed to provide specific growth-factor signaling.
When will I see results?
Some patients notice improvements relatively early, but collagen remodeling is gradual. Changes in texture and overall skin quality may continue developing over several weeks.
Does PDGF Microneedling hurt?
A topical numbing agent may be used before treatment. Most patients describe the treatment as manageable, although sensitivity varies by treatment area and individual.
How many treatments will I need?
There isn’t one protocol for everyone. Your recommended number of sessions will depend on your skin, the concern being treated and your treatment goals.
How much downtime should I expect?
Redness and sensitivity are common immediately afterward and typically improve as the skin heals. Dryness, tightness or mild flaking may also occur.
Can I combine it with other treatments?
Potentially. Your Defy provider can help build a treatment plan and appropriately space micro needling around other aesthetic procedures.
